Effective and concerted efforts are necessary to raise global awareness about climate change impacts on the Himalayas; but it is even more so within the Himalayan region itself.
WWF is already doing a lot of work in the Himalayan region, working to reconnect natural landscapes across the Eastern Himalayas - ensuring that plant and animal species are able to thrive and that the needs of local communities are met without negative impacts on the environment.
For this, it has launched the Living Himalayas Network Initiative (NI), an ambitious transformational programme, which will work through the bold concerted actions of the three governments in Nepal, India and Bhutan as well as empowered communities; this programme will ensure that rich natural and cultural heritage of this region will be effectively managed and conserved.
Through this network, it will be ensured that our target of raising awareness on climate change impacts in the Himalayas is achieved and the impact and reach of this campaign within Asia ismagnified.

The Climate for Life Campaign shall contribute towards fulfilling the vision of the Living Himalayas Network Initiative.
