Apa and Climate for Life Get a Thumbs-Up from the Prime Minister

Kathmandu, Nepal – Newly-appointed Prime Minister of Nepal Madhav Kumar Nepal, today, met with Apa Sherpa and the Climate for Life team and gave his blessings to the efforts to raise awareness about climate change in the Himalayas.

As a gesture that speaks volumes of the Prime Minister's priority towards needs of tackling Climate Change he took out time from his busy schedule on just his second day in office to commend Apa's efforts. He presented him with a letter that reads, "I would like to congratulate you on your glorious ascent to Mt. Everest for the nineteenth time. I also would like to commend the efforts you have made to highlight the climate change issue and its impact on the Himalayas. You have done Nepal proud." 

On the occasion, the Climate for Life campaign team also briefed the Prime Minister on the campaign and its objectives and the need for the nation to take leadership on Climate-Change matters.
