
New York, USA - Ambassador for WWF’s Climate for Life Campaign and SAARC Goodwill Ambassador for Climate Change Apa Sherpa recently addressed a session on Climate Vulnerability and Its Impact on the Millennium Development Goals at UN Headquarters in New York. The session was part of the UN Summit on Millennium Development Goals, a high-level plenary meeting of the UN General Assembly from 20 – 22 September, 2010. H.E. Sheikh Hasina, Hon’ble Prime Minister of Bangladesh was the Chairperson of the session.

In his address, Apa elaborated on the dangerous impacts of climate change in the Himalayas as well as across the South Asian nations. He urged the delegates at the Summit for strong actions and commitments to stop emitting green house gases so that “the heritage of Mother Earth can be passed for generations to come”.
